What is FEDS_HEAL?
FEDS_HEAL Partners FEDS_HEAL is a blending of services that was created through a joint agreement of interagency support between the Department of Defense (DOD), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), and Federal Occupational Health (FOH). Through this partnership, reservists and reserve units have access to nearly 10,000 points of service nationally that allow them to conveniently receive required medical and dental exams, limited dental treatment, and immunizations so they can deploy anywhere, anytime. The FEDS_HEAL Process All medical service requests are coordinated through the FEDS_HEAL Program Office (FHPO), which is responsible for scheduling medical services and generating management reports for specified military oversight agents. Services are tailored to fit unique and individual needs. A powerful web-based Automated Voucher System (AVS), which facilitates the tracking and reporting of services, is used to request exams and treatment. Once services are requested at the unit level through the AVS, exams and immunizations may be coordinated individually or en-masse during a drill weekend. For individual services, the FHPO will work to link the service member to a locally available provider. Service members can then schedule services at their convenience. The FHPO accomplishes all the necessary record keeping, data entry, and reporting, essentially relieving the unit of these time consuming administrative functions. In addition, the FHPO maintains digitized copies of medical information and updates the Army's medical database, MEDPROS. FEDS_HEAL Services Services available through the FEDS_HEAL network include periodic physical examinations, accession physical exams, dental screenings, immunizations, HIV testing, PAP smears, vision exams, Health Risk Assessments (HRAs), and pre- and post-deployment physical exams. In addition, the FEDS_HEAL program provides dental restorative treatment (to class 2) to those reservists identified as early deployers. The FHPO reviews and provides quality assurance (QA) reviews of all physicals submitted to them and then sends them to the appropriate command. The FHPO also maintains digital copies of services and can provide certified true copies as required.
