Deployment: Bosnia

Environmental health factors posing the greatest risk (in descending order) to forces deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina include: contamination of water sources with raw sewage and chemicals, and contamination of air and soil from hazardous industrial waste. Water supplies, water treatment and distribution systems, and industrial centers remain targets for destruction, deliberate contamination, or interdiction by ethnic actions.

Pre-deployment immunizations for all personnel include Hepatitis A, MMR, Td, influenza and typhoid. Selected personnel may require other vaccines as dictated by appropriate medical authority.
