OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH

Even though we spend much of our time either commuting or working, most of us do not think about occupational health. Not surprisingly, many accidents occur on the job and many health issues related to our workplace environments exist. Specialized fields of study have been developed to investigate workplace health issues such as Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene and other Occupational Health Sciences.

Creating the Ideal Computer Workstation
Create an ergonomically sound workstation for computer users with these guidelines on how to adjust your furniture, computer equipment and work aides. Evaluate the ergonomics of your current workstation and use this as a specifications list when purchasing new equipment.

Industrial Hygiene
Industrial Hygiene is the art and science devoted to the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of environmental stresses arising in the work place. The goal of Industrial Hygiene is to find alternative methods to reduce or eliminate these health hazards.
