Diet Drugs Work Best When Combined with Diet and Exercise

A new study has shown that healthy eating and physical activity are necessary to get the most out of diet pills. A group (the combined-therapy group) that received thirty sessions of lifestyle counseling along with the drug lost about 5.5 pounds in a year, while those who received just the drug lost about 2.3 pounds, and those who took the drug and were counseled briefly by a health care provider when they got the prescription lost about 3 pounds. The greatest weight loss of all was achieved by those in the combined-therapy group who kept a food diary and made frequent entries in it. As you plan your healthy lifestyle program, watch what you eat and write it down in a tracking log every day! It's bound to help.
