A new version of AR 600-9, The Army Weight Control Program, has been published.

The new AR 600-9 (Army Weight Control Program) has arrived!!
It replaced the 1986 version as of 1 September 2006. Use the link
at HOOAH 4 a Healthy Body to download a copy for yourself or your unit.

PLEASE NOTE that body fat measurement has changed - the circumference measurements used for women are different, the "round up/round down" factor has changed (from 1/4 lb to 1/2 lb),
and the calculation tables are different. Also remember when using the H4H BMI Calculator that it is based on height and weight ONLY and thus gives you an approximation of your BMI according to Army standards. Use the 600-9 illustrations, calculating worksheets
(pp 17-39 of the regulation), and tables to get the value required by the Army.

Be sure to use the links on the H4H Army Weight Control Program (AWCP) page for up-to-the-minute information on nutrition and fitness to help you follow the guidance in AR 600-9, especially Appendix C - Nutrition Guide to the Weight Control Program.
