New Additions at the Mental Health
Self-Assessment Program

MHSAP.gif The Mental Health Self-Assessment (MHSA) Program is a voluntary, anonymous, self-directed mental health and alcohol screening and referral program offered to military Families and service members affected by deployments and mobilizations.

The screening is designed so that one can review his or her situation, with regard to some of the more common mental health issues. Rather than providing a diagnosis, it is designed to identify any presence of symptoms consistent with a condition or concern that would benefit from further evaluation or treatment. In addition, the screening provides guidance as to where one might seek assistance.

Recent updates to the assessment include a Spanish-language option online and a telephone version. To take the assessment and receive feedback by phone, dial 877-877-3647.

In addition, an assessment for parents worried about depression in a teenage child has been added. Visit militarymentalhealth.org to view and take one or more assessments, or call the toll-free number.

For more information about Mental Health, visit the Mind and Deployment sections on this site.
