Iowa Army National Guard Physical Readiness Leadership Training

Members of the Iowa Army National Guard are instructed in Physical Readiness Leadership Training, 14-17 January 2002. Information on how to receive this training can be found on our Events page.

Students were introduced to a variety of skills including posture enhancement, conditioning drills, dumbbell drills, medicine ball drills, and numerous other ways to restore body alignment and optimal function.

Strength and conditioning expert Steve Myrland began the course with a full day of instruction in cutting-edge functional fitness concepts. Steve taught med ball training, agility drills, cable work, and numerous other balance, power, speed, and agility skills.

The IARNG learned hand, elbow and knee attacks, and went to the ground for an afternoon of takedowns, chokes, arm locks, leg locks, and a variety of ground control methods from Five-time World Ultimate Fighting Champion Pat Miletich.
