| MICROFIT The MicroFit is used to evaluate the physical fitness levels of individuals in the civilian fitness program (CFP) during pre-and post-fitness evaluations which are mandatory for all CFP participants (DCSPER message Mar 96 AR 600-63). The MicroFit includes flexibility and body composition along with strength, aerobic, weight, and blood pressure tests. All of these components are necessary to assess the complete physical well-being of an individual.
The MicroFit consolidates all components of the fitness assessment into one machine and only requires one person to do the assessment. The measurements and evaluations are integrated directly into the MicroFit software. Upon request a detailed printed fitness profile can be produced. The software system also maintains a fitness assessment database that an instructor can use for educating participants, tracking progress, and performing future evaluations. The database also has customized workout programs, group reports and client management features available.
COLESTECH
The Cholestech L-D-X is used to evaluate the total cholesterol, HDL, glucose, triglycerides, calculated TC/HDL ratio, and estimate of LDL and VLDL levels of individuals. Cholesterol testing is an integral part of the pre-and post-fitness evaluations in the CFP. It is also available for cholesterol evaluations during APG health fairs and CHPPM employee screenings.
This equipment's major advantage is its portability, allowing the testing to be done on-site saving lost employee downtime. This system consolidates the cholesterol assessment into one piece of equipment, requiring only one person to do the assessment with a simple fingerstick. It alleviates costly administrative follow-up since the results are available within five minutes. The unit provides a complete diagnostic system for on-site testing with a label copy printer to print results. The major advantages are use of fewer personnel to administer it, reduced risk of handling or transporting blood samples, lower administrative costs, and enhanced service to the customer with fast, accurate results.
